Dear RCA Records,

We are students at John Cabot Academy in Bristol, England. For our A-levels we are studying Media studies, and for our coursework project we have formed a record label which we have named as ‘Kyra Records’. With the record label we then decided to make a music video.

We researched different songs and groups to decide on what song to use for our music video. We came to the conclusion that we would like to use Miley Cyrus’ song “Wrecking Ball”. Therefore we are writing to ask for your permission to use her song for our A-level coursework project to ensure there will be no issues with copyright. I can assure you that the video we produce will not include any inappropriate content and will not be used to make a profit. We hope that you will take this into consideration and allow us to use ‘Wrecking Ball’ for our A2 coursework. Thank you for taking the time to consider us.
